My First Voyage

This children’s pop-up book was written by Huimyeong Lee, based on her research of the SS Great Britain Trust’s archive. It is told from the perspective of John, who was a Cabin Boy. Most of John’s adventures are based on actual stories that occurred on board the ship.

Huimyeong’s work is part of the AHRC-funded Exchange project supporting community-led research with museum collections.
