Donate
The SS Great Britain Trust is privileged to look after the SS Great Britain and Brunel’s legacy.
By making a donation you are helping the Trust to share the incredible story of one of Britain’s greatest engineers and one of the most important ships in maritime history.
Donations can be made online here or you can even make a donation via text – just text BRUNEL to 70450 for a one-off donation of £5 (plus standard rate message charge).
Your donation is hugely appreciated, and enables the Trust to:
▪️ Conserve the ship; prevent corrosion of the iconic iron hull and make her available for future generations.
▪️ Run exciting and accessible museums and education programmes, which inspire people with innovation and engineering. These include the historic dockyard, ship and museum site in Bristol as well as education programmes like the Future Brunels.
▪️ Care for and grow the nationally significant Brunel Collection within the Brunel Institute.
⚓ Thank you for your support.

Some 20,000 school children visit us each year. The Golden Ticket Programme provides free visits for schools in Bristol that would otherwise not be able to visit.
There are over 6,500 maritime books, 7,300 ship plans, and objects relating to the SS Great Britain, housed in the Brunel Institute which is free to access.
The SS Great Britain Trust has won more than 50 awards including ‘Best UK & Ireland Tourism Project’ & ‘Europe’s Most Welcoming Museum’.
The Future Brunels Programme aims to inspire the next generation of Brunels by introducing them to new ideas relating to science, technology, engineering & maths.
The SS Great Britain is a key piece of our nation’s heritage. Ensure the ship spends another 50 years with us all by giving your support today.
