Indulge like a Victorian VIP with a delicious selection of savouries and desserts as you experience an afternoon tea on board the world’s first great ocean liner.
This Mother’s Day (Sunday, 19th March), Brunel’s SS Great Britain is launching the first of its exclusive on-board afternoon tea experiences for 2023.
Set in the ship’s First Class Dining Saloon, visitors can tuck into a delicious array of treats, including finger sandwiches, mini savouries, indulgent scones, and elegant macaroons.
The stunning Victorian dining room has been lovingly restored by the SS Great Britain Trust’s Interpretation team. During voyages, the room would have been accessed by first-class passengers only – so it’s the perfect place to make someone special feel like a VIP this Mother’s Day.
Guests can choose between a 1pm and 3pm slot and must book their experience ahead of time.
After tea, you can stroll through the Victorian dockyard, explore the ship, and visit the Being Brunel Museum to discover the incredible story behind the historic setting.
The SS Great Britain’s afternoon tea experience will run on selected Sundays across the summer. Guests can experience tea in the most opulent of settings on the following dates:
- March 19th
- May 7th (Coronation weekend, celebrating the ship’s royal connections)
- June 25th
- July 23rd
- August 20th
- September 24th
