Job Title: Freelance Producer SS Great Britain
Contract: Sept – Dec 2025, part time. Please note some days on site would be needed
during October Half Term.
Fee: £10,000

The SS Great Britain Trust is a multi-award-winning visitor attraction and education
charity. Every year, thousands of visitors come to Bristol’s vibrant harbourside to explore
Brunel’s iconic steamship, two immersive museums, a world-renowned collection, and
a historic dockyard. We deliver transformative educational programmes, impactful
community projects, and vital conservation work.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager/Creative Producer to lead the delivery of
our programming activity for October Half Term and Christmas at the SS Great Britain
which are key periods for us, creating magical, memorable experiences while
maximising footfall.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external creatives to manage all aspects of
    programming and public experience, ensuring smooth operations and an
    exceptional visitor experience.
  • Coordinate event logistics including sourcing materials and products, set-up,
    technical support, and communication to relevant teams.
  • Draft and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, artists, and
    performers.
  • Create staffing and volunteer shift schedules and oversee day to day running of
    activity is smooth and high quality
  • Manage and track budgets, project management timelines so programmes are
    delivered on time and to budget

departments and with external partners. You have a proven track record of delivering
public programmes in cultural or visitor-facing settings. You understand how to create
high-quality, inclusive experiences, and can deliver them on time, within budget, with all
necessary staff training to ensure seamless operations.
