OUR COMMUNITY
Brunel’s SS Great Britain is so much more than a ship, and we’re not just for tourists. We’ve been in the heart of Bristol since her homecoming in 1970, which many locals will remember, and have grown from a beached wreck to an award-winning attraction spanning an immersive dry dock, a historic dockyard, two interactive museums and the SS Great Britain herself.
As a charity, we care for the SS Great Britain along with collections comprising 70,000 objects and artefacts in the two museums and the archives. But we’re also proud to support our city through community engagement and specialist education programmes.
