There’s plenty of fun to be had this Halloween at Brunel's SS Great Britain.


Grizzly Cuts and Gruesome Scars

11am - 4pm, daily until Sunday 4 November

Included in the price of admission

Earn a Certificate of Bravery and scare your friends with seaworthy injuries from professional special effects makeup artists. Adults can also learn more about the real illnesses and injuries experienced by passengers on board.

The Ragged Victorians

11am - 4pm, Saturday 27 - Sunday 28 October

The Ragged Victorians will be joining the crew for a gruesome weekend, bringing the Dockyard to life with their award winning re-enacting of the Victorian lower classes.

Step on board after-dark for The Spooky Ship (8+)

Settle in for a good, old-fashioned Victorian fright-fest this Halloween with The Spooky Ship. Follow a ghoulish guide and navigate the nooks and crannies of the 175-year-old ship; watch out for characters lurking in the shadows, hoping to share their terrible tales.

Free in the Brunel Institute

Discover gruesome facts in extended Archive in Five sessions and explore original artefacts and diaries.

Climb The Rigging

12pm - 5pm, daily

Free for under 18s, £10 for over 18s

Go Aloft! Become a true sailor and climb the huge mainmast. Brave souls can ascend the rigging to a viewing platform at over 26m above ground level and even step out over the harbour on the main yard. 


All special events (excluding Spooky Ship and Go Aloft! for over 18s) are in addition to exploring the ship, Dry Dock, Dockyard Museum and Being Brunel and are included in the usual admission price.
