October Half Term
Calling fearless adventurers! All aboard for our spookiest Halloween yet. This October Half term from 25 October to 2 November 2025, the ship will be packed with family fun and ghoulish activities for all ages.
😱 Woeful Wounds
Time: 11am-3pm | Location: First Class Dining Saloon | £3 per session
Back by popular demand, ‘Woeful Wounds’ returns for 2025. Special effects make-up artists from SGS College will create realistic cuts, rashes, and blisters for brave sailors to show off!
They will use film and TV grade make-up to create incredibly realistic effects related to the types of injuries sustained by the crew on board the SS Great Britain. There will be a (fake) blood option of a lacerated cut (with silly glass if desired) and non-blood options of a blister or bruise (created with cream-based make-up).
For the first time, Woeful Wounds is available to all ages, from 4 years, including adults. Prepare to frighten your family and friends whether you’re a wee nipper or seasoned sailor!
*We recommend using the booking links to secure your timeslot in advance. Walk-ups will be available; however spaces cannot be guaranteed.
☠️ Haunted Ship
Go below deck and explore the strange and unusual things happening aboard the SS Great Britain this spooky season! Encounter ghostly apparitions of crew and passengers of bygone times as you explore the ship.
🎃 Terrifying Turnip Trail
The troublesome turnips are back and ready to lead you around the dockyard and ship, each revealing fascinating facts about Victorian Halloween traditions.
