Guided Tours

The SS Great Britain is one of the most important historic ships in the world. When launched in 1843 it was called ‘the greatest experiment since the Creation’.

Make the most out of your visits and tour the iconic ship with one of our knowledgeable volunteer tour guides. You will discover how Isambard Kingdom Brunel revolutionised travel and set new standards in engineering that changed the world, hear stories about those who travelled on board and learn about the remarkable journey of the ship’s return to the very dock it was built in.
