Overview

SS Great Britain is looking for friendly and motivated individuals to join our Visitor Experience team over the busy summer period.

You’ll be part of the Commercial and Operations team, who look after the day‑to‑day running of the SS Great Britain site whenever we’re open to the public. This includes welcoming visitors at admissions, supporting access needs, helping people make the most of their experience across the site and running our shop. The team is responsible for maintaining a safe, accessible environment for all visitors and ensuring everyone has a high‑quality experience, as well as managing income from tickets, Gift Aid and retail activity.

About the Role

As a Visitor Experience Assistant (VEA), you’ll help create welcoming, memorable experiences for everyone who visits ensuring they have a fantastic day out. You’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our front‑of‑house operations, including welcoming visitors, selling admission tickets, capturing Gift Aid and helping customers in our shop. You’ll also help bring the stories of the ship and our charitable work to life, with full training and support provided.
