Kids Go Free – Terms & Conditions and FAQs

From 19 July 2023, up to two children aged 5-16 can visit for free with each full paying adult. Those 4 years and under (or Nippers, as we like to call them) are always free so they do not need to be included as one of your two free children. This offer only applies to new ticket purchases and must be booked online.

FAQs

Q: How do I claim free entry for my kids?

A: Go to our tickets page and click on the arrow next to ‘Summer Tickets’. You will be given the option to add ‘1 adult and 1 free child’ ticket or ‘1 adult and 2 free children’ tickets to your basket, just add in as many as you need and each one will only charge for the adult ticket. You can also add any other tickets you may need such as additional adults, children or carers.

Q: I already have an adult ticket, how do I book a free child?

A: This offer is available on new ticket purchases only. If you do not need to purchase any new adult tickets for your visit, you’ll be able to buy a child ticket online for just £13.50 that will be valid for a whole 12 months of free, unlimited return visits!

Q: I already have a family ticket, how does this work with children go free?

A: If you’re purchased a Family ticket, this will include free, unlimited return visits for 12 whole months for each person in the family. You won’t need to book new tickets as long as your original ticket is still in date, just book a timeslot for your arrival which you can book here.

Q: I have a child who is under 5, do they need to be included in the free child tickets?

A: No, children aged 4 or under (or, as we like to call them, Nippers) come in for free on their own ticket as normal and do not need to be included as one of your two free children. Nipper tickets can be booked online or collected from the tills on the day of your visit.

Q: I want to bring more than 2 children aged 5-16, what do I do?

A: This promotion allows two free children per adult, if you need to add additional children you will need to purchase additional child tickets. Additional child tickets are available to purchase.

Q: Do I have to book a timeslot?

A: The summer holidays can be a very busy time for us so to make sure everyone has the space they need to explore, we have limited the number of people that can enter every hour. This means you will need to book a timeslot but don’t worry if you’re not sure when to book for, we’re able to cancel and amend timeslots easily if your plans do change! You can do this here.

Q: Can I book a free child ticket with a Student/Universal Credit/Refugee/Carer ticket

A: Free child tickets are only available when a full price, adult passenger ticket is purchased. If you’re not sure which deal will get you the best value for your visit, contact us on admin@ssgreatbritain.org

Q: Is the free child ticket valid for 12 months of unlimited free, return visits?

A: Free child tickets are only valid for one visit each.

Q: The date/time slot I want to book is not showing any availability?

A: This means that date or timeslot is fully booked, and you’ll need to choose another date or time to visit. Mornings tend to be most popular, so try looking at time slots from 12pm onwards.

Q: I don’t have proof of age for my children, what do I do?

A: Our crew in the Visitor Centre will only ask for proof of age under some circumstances, this will not be expected as standard. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone we believe is failing to comply with the parameters of this offer.

Q: Can I use the free child ticket for Go Aloft!/Summer Lates/Afternoon Tea/Tours?

A: Free child tickets are for general admission only and do not include other events or activities such as Go Aloft, Summer Lates, Brunel Dockyard Tour, Private Guided Tours, or Afternoon Teas.

Q: Can I get free child tickets on the door?

A: This is an online only offer, pre-booking is essential. Free child tickets will not be available when purchasing tickets in our Visitor Centre.
