Brunel’s SS Great Britain is an ideal location for a day out of the classroom. The historic ship, Dockyard Museum and beneath the ‘sea’ in the Dry Dock capture the imagination with lots to see, hear, touch and even smell!
School visits are currently available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when the site is closed to the general public. There have been changes put in place to make your visit safe while maintaining access to all areas of the site. We now have a one-way system through our museums, in the dry dock, and on board the ship and numerous hand-sanitising stations across site.
As part of your visit you can book facilitated workshops and guided tours; a wide range of free resources are available to support pre-and post-visit learning.
We are taking bookings for the current academic year. We can run up to two workshops a day, Tuesday and Wednesday (subject to availability). Email the bookings team at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your visit.
