Dust off your deerstalker, fill your pipe and become a detective for the evening.
Join us on board Brunel’s most extraordinary time machine, the SS Great Britain and become a detective for an evening. Board the ship and be immersed into a murder plot. Try to solve the crime during dinner with further revelations. Are you smart enough to be the next Sherlock Holmes?
The story so far...
It is 1937 and the crowds have gathered for this year’s National Academy Awards.
The scene is set for the two main film companies hoping to scoop the top awards.
Marjorie - Gae Millington Owner of Centurion Films will be here. She has become a giant in film in the past two years with one success after another. Centurion’s offering will be the hotly tipped ‘Love Me Baby’ directed by Barton Hayes who is the ‘man of the moment’.
The film features James Stonnington Smythe who has been described as a man with a “disturbingly natural flair for being odd” and April Lovage – “a precocious girl who got worse with age!” – maybe either of these young stars may put in an appearance.
Max Reedmand of rival company Dream Film Studios will be in attendance looking at the plot of ‘Love Me Baby’ which appears to have a storyline strikingly similar to a script stolen from him earlier this year…
The evening looks set to be another showdown between these two companies.
It may of course just be showbusiness rivalry…It couldn’t be anything else, something perhaps more sinister…Or could it?
Arrival from 7.30pm – 8pm
Enjoy a glass of freshly made Winter Pimms or a non-alcoholic fruit punch on our Promenade Deck.
