Victorian Christmas Weekends

December 04 2021

Event
Free with admission

Join us this December as we celebrate a very festive Victorian Christmas!

Step back in time to enjoy a wintry dockyard, which will be transformed with Christmas greenery and even falling snow. You will also meet a cast of historic characters, including guests from the Ragged Victorians living history group.

For the first time ever, we’ll also be inviting a special Father Christmas to site, dressed in Victorian green robes. Find him aboard the ship, where the saloons and cabins will be adorned with traditional handmade decorations, or spot him wandering around the joyous dockyard. Why not stop him for a story about Victorian Christmas traditions, or perhaps you want to find out why he’s green!

The festive celebrations will take place over three weekends in December:

  1. 4-5 December
  2. 11-12 December
  3. 18-19 December

If you enjoy a sing-a-long, the Dockyard will be alive with the sound of festive songs once more as we host a selection of local and community choirs, including our very own Steamship Singers! Please see the schedule below for performance times.
