Jo H W Gipps

Dr Jo H W Gipps, OBE

Jo was elected a Trustee in June 2007 and became a member of the Board of Trustees in June 2007. He joined Bristol Zoo Gardens as Director in September 2001. He previously worked at London Zoo for 12 years, eight of those as Director. He chairs the Conservation Committee of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) and is also a member of WAZA Council. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Conservation Breeding Specialist Group (CBSG) of IUCN, and a former Trustee of the International Species Information System (ISIS). In January 2000, he was awarded the OBE for his services to the ‘Web of Life’ project in London Zoo.
