Sea Shanty Night
October 9
Join the famous ‘Harry Browns of Bristol’ for nautical songs, food and drink. £49.50 Join our crew on board for an evening of sea shanty sing alongs, ale swigging and hearty food.
Dinner includes a selection of rustic bread, traditional rich dark lamb casserole or rich root vegetable stew (for vegetarians) served with caraway dumplings and seasonal vegetables, followed by deep-filled apple pie, with custard and cream.
Rum punch is served on arrival, with jugs of ale, available for purchase, poured from barrels in the First Class Dining Saloon. Relaxed and enjoyable for all, the evening stars the famous Harry Brown Shanty Men!

An evening of fine Burgundy

Tutored tasting of 12 fine Burgundy wines by John Avery, Master of Wine, on board Brunel’s ss Great Britain. Three-course banquet to follow in the First Class Dining Saloon plus Burgundy wine auction. Tasting wines kindly donated by Mr Louis Sherwood.
A unique fundraising event, with all proceeds to the Brunel Institute Founders’ Campaign.

‘All at Sea’, Baker Gallery
The Baker Gallery, situated within the Dockyard Museum, offers a range of Victorian watercolours, along with other works, including oils by maritime artist Joseph Walters, which capture two of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s ships, the ss Great Britain and Great Western, under steam. This exhibition is included in the admission to Brunel's ss Great Britain.
