Floating Harbour 200th anniversary (a FrANC event)
Performance area (outside the Ticket Office), from 12.30pm

Celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the opening of the Floating Harbour and Avon New Cut - with a hog roast, street theatre, jazz band, Irish dancers, Morris dancers, fun and games for all the family organised by the Friends of the Avon New Cut.

The Friends of the Avon New Cut (FrANC) is a group of local people aiming to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of the Cut, including its history, wildlife, and essential role in the city.  FrANC runs guided walks and other events, organises riverbank clean-up sessions, publishes regular newsletters and has produced a book and two wildlife leaflets.  Information is available on the Southville Centre website


Exhibitions

‘All at Sea’, Baker Gallery
The Baker Gallery, situated within the Dockyard Museum, offers a range of Victorian watercolours, along with other works, including oils by maritime artist Joseph Walters, which capture two of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s ships, the ss Great Britain and Great Western, under steam. This exhibition is included in the admission to Brunel's ss Great Britain.
