Children's Captain Competition Winners

In April we held a competition asking you to send in a photograph or draw a picture of yourself dressed as the ship’s Captain.

We had lots of really imaginative and creative entries which all of us crew really enjoyed looking at. We could see that you all really got into the spirit of the competition!

'Captain Joe'

We decided to choose as our winner the entry from ‘Captain Joe’ O’Keefe, aged just two and a half, from Bristol.

We decided he best represented the characteristics of the ss Great Britain’s Victorian captain – authority, cheerfulness and good sea legs.

His entry included a painting of the ss Great Britain, showing ‘Captain Joe’ making his sister walk the plank!

We particularly liked the way the picture mixed drawings and photographs. Joe had even persuaded his two sisters to help.
